Why are you forcing Clipchamp Users to use OneDrive or else they lose everything? Doesn't that feel a little bit inconsiderate and just further hurts your image?

I get that you want people to use OneDrive, but the nicest thing you ever did was making the use of OneDrive OPTIONAL, the Keyword here being OPTIONAL. But then after seeing the most recent update you made for Clipchamp, you've basically declared that it's no longer an Option to not use OneDrive for it or else everybody risks all of their Hardwork getting deleted just because they refused to upload everything to the Cloud, which I'm sure a lot of folks on here don't like doing or didn't want to use the Cloud to begin with. So why are you basically holding Clipchamp Users at Gunpoint with this unnecessary and rather hostile change to the Application?

I'm so angry! I don't want to use the Cloud omg. I like the convivence of everything being on my local drive. I'm going to cancel my subscription and find another video editing software program. I'm an American in France and just got this horrible update today. I'm in shock. I feel like my work has been taken hostage. Do this or else... You guys have become such dictators to FORCE people to use the cloud against their will. Wow, just wow!

MS are nothing but greedy corporate bastards thinking they can just do whatever they want. sorry MS but you don't have this complacent society you dream about where you can just milk money under every excuse you can make. I paid for my windows license, clip champ came with the windows package. One Drive is NOT essential. Videos are edited there, stored locally and then uploaded to sites like tiktok, youtube, sometimes even instagram. Then the videos are deleted from local storage... One Drive might be beneficial in some respects but not for editing videos, costs more money than its worth, and its worth nothing when I can just go and pay a one time fee to use things like sony vegas.

I literally cannot believe this. This is unbelievable even for Microsoft. I used ClipChamp all the time and now because I don't use OneDrive (because when I first got my PC, I didn't understand it and so sadly ended up with a nightmare scenario of tons of double files, some on OneDrive, some on my PC. Stuff wouldn't save properly. It was a living nightmare I can't even explain, I had to format and reset my PC and then get rid of OneDrive) I can't use ClipChamp? How is this an update or improvement? They've literally disabled the app for me just because I don't use OneDrive. This is unreal. I'm actually in shock

I have several Terabytes of high resolution photos and videos in up to 8K resolution. I used to use clipchamp to easily get some films together fast for social media.

Microsoft has now killed Clipchamp for any even half serious use.

Firstly the bandwith will not handle working in the cloud. I have gigabit Internet but video-editing on the cloud??? Seriously? I use several fast MVM SSD tiered with slower SSD and huge hard drives. Today I downloaded a small workset of 156 pictures and videos from Onedrive to work on. It took an half hour to an hour to get the files off Onedrive so I even could browse files. Onedrive is far too slow to even be useful for browsing this small workset and this is on a gigabit connection...

Some days I produce large worksets of 2000-3000 pictures and films in one day. No professional IT person would ever consider working with video over the Internet seriously. And what about working on video on an airplane? Even if you would have Internet on a plane, it would be very slow. Now it is impossible to work on planes, buses or trains.

Secondly forcing personal content to Microsoft clouds in an AI-era raises serious questions to why? Where is the bullet proof legal document that prohibits Microsoft from using personal OneDrive content to train their AI?

Microsoft is, again, killing itself for being useful or meaningful as they did with outlook trying to force individuals to store all their personal mails on Onedrive. A good thing with all this is that I get to get my Linux skills updated...

I have been a Microsoft fan for decades, but Microsoft is doing a good job on pushing me away.

It's funny. I tried to update the comments below but it makes me go through a sign in loop. Probably because all the comments are negative. The recent changes are making me really consider canceling the 365 monthly on top of anything else microsoft related. Was better when you paid for it directly, now it's awful. What should take like 2 hrs is now at least doubled because you have to restart clipchamps and wait for the buffering nonsense. Also still doesn't really use the cloud it uses local storage so you have to reset the app in settings after each video.

I have quite using ClipChamp because OneDrive is required. I also cancelled OneDrive extra storage.

GARBAGE UPDATE.

Unsubscribed, and will uninstall completely if nothing changes.

Besides that, now it claims I'm overusing cloud storage, and harassing me to I purchase more when I'm using .01

GB? I couldnt care less about using the Cloud. I dont need it and never have.

I have a computer, and files, and didnt ask to store my personal work on YOUR platform.

Ignorant and disrespectful management of an update.

Frankly, I hope most, if not all users unsubscribe.

Not to mention, the uploads are becoming more crappy, blurry and distorted, even when settings are at 1080p+
