    Hello Dave Tomita,

If you’re unable to turn Bluetooth on or off in Windows 11, you’re definitely not alone this is a common issue. Here are some practical steps you can try:

Check Device Manager: Make sure your Bluetooth driver is installed and enabled. Open Device Manager, look for “Bluetooth”—if there’s a yellow warning or if it’s missing, right-click and try to update or enable the device.

Run the Troubleshooter: You can run the built-in Bluetooth troubleshooter from Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Find “Bluetooth” and run it; Windows will automatically look for and address common problems.

Restart Bluetooth Services: Press Win + R, type services.msc, and check that “Bluetooth Support Service” is started. If not, right-click and select “Start.”

Update Windows and Drivers: Go to Settings > Windows Update and get the latest updates. Also, visit your laptop manufacturer’s website for specific Bluetooth driver updates.

Toggle Airplane Mode: Sometimes, switching Airplane Mode on and off refreshes all radio devices (including Bluetooth).

If these steps don’t work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth driver, or check with your device manufacturer's support for more advanced troubleshooting.

    Best Regards,

    Jerald Felix

    Hi,

Please run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit or download it here

    https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nf1mr6c60zf?hl=en-US&gl=US

    or

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46703

To find issues and fix for your surface device as well as to download the latest updates for your bluetooth.

I had a Surface Laptop 11th gen, so what worked for me was to simply hold shift while clicking shut down, and continuing to hold shift until the lights on the laptop went off. This resets your drivers, which allowed bluetooth to work again. So when I turned it back on, I can listen to music again.

    Hope it helps you!
