Hey Missytee, you're definitely not alone — a lot of people have been seeing similar issues with Excel on iPads after the October update. It looks like something in the latest version caused performance glitches and freezing, especially when opening or editing files.

A few things you can try for now:

Force close the app and reopen it.

Restart your iPad — sometimes that clears temporary bugs.

Make sure both iOS and Excel are fully updated, since Microsoft usually pushes quick fixes after reports like this.

If it’s still freezing, try deleting and reinstalling Excel (your files will still be safe if they’re saved to OneDrive or iCloud).

Hopefully Microsoft rolls out a patch soon — this seems to be happening to multiple users after the latest update.

    Dear Microsoft Support,

I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft Excel on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Whenever I tap a cell to edit it, the Excel app immediately crashes and returns to the Home Screen.

    Issue details:

    • Occurs in all Excel files, including new blank workbooks.
    • Started approximately 1 day ago.
    • Reinstalled Excel, but the issue remains.
    • Signed out of my Microsoft account and tested again.
    • iPhone has more than 160 GB free storage.
    • Other applications work normally.
    • The same Microsoft account and Excel files work correctly on my laptop.

Please investigate this issue and advise on a solution.

    Thank you.
