Hello Ashvin Parihar,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand you’re concerned that after setting up your new laptop with MS Office 2024, it’s still showing the old Office 2016 version linked to your existing Microsoft account instead of activating the new subscription.
This is not a hardware defect. It’s a licensing and account configuration issue. Once you activate the new subscription, Office 2024 will appear.
You will need to check your subscription status first: go to https://account.microsoft.com/services > Sign in with the Gmail ID you used > Verify if Office 2024 is listed. If not, the new license hasn’t been activated.
After that, you can redeem the new license. Look for a product key or activation card that came with the laptop then go to https://setup.office.com and enter the key. If the laptop uses digital entitlement, you may need to create a new Microsoft account or link the license to your existing account.
Finally, you can remove Office 2016 from your laptop and download and install Office 2024 from your Microsoft account after activation by following instructions in this link: Uninstall Microsoft 365 from a PC
