I am unable to log into my Microsoft account to share an excel spreadsheet from my laptop to my iPhone. I have been able to do this before. I have gone through all options, and the Microsoft helper says no issues found but it won't send me a verification code or accept password or provide other options to sign in.

    Hi @Peter McDonald

Thank you for posting question to Microsoft Q&A.

Based on your description, I understand that you are unable to log into your Microsoft account, which is preventing you from sharing an Excel file from your laptop to your iPhone. Although you've been able to do this in the past, the sign-in process now fails without sending a verification code, accepting your password, or offering alternative ways to log in.

To help diagnose the problem, I need a little more information:

-Is the Microsoft account you are using a Personal account (like @outlook.com, @hotmail.com) or a Business/Work account provided by your company or school?

-Are you using the exact same Microsoft account on both your laptop and your iPhone? If they are different accounts, please let me know the type for each (Personal or Business).

-Could you please describe the method you are using to share the file? (e.g., are you using the 'Share' button inside Excel, saving it to OneDrive and opening it on the phone, etc.?). If possible, could you please provide a screenshot of the screen you see when you share the file?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try based on your goal of accessing the file on your iPhone:

-On your iPhone, are you trying to open the file using the Excel app or a web browser? If you are using the app, please try opening a web browser and logging into www.office.com or www.onedrive.com. See if you can access your account and the file that way.

-If the login fails specifically within the Excel or OneDrive app on your iPhone, please try reinstalling the app.

-As a test, are you able to log in to the Excel app on your iPhone with a different Microsoft account (if you have one)? This can help determine if the issue is specific to the app or your account.

Please let me know the answers to the questions above, as they will help us determine the next steps.
