Problem using OneNote on Lenovo tablet with student license

I Hi,
I'm trying to use the Microsoft OneNote app on my Lenovo tablet. I'm signed in with a student license.

On my desktop computer, OneNote works perfectly. Other Microsoft 365 apps like Excel also work well on the tablet.

However, when I try to open OneNote on the tablet, I get an error message saying:
"Your school or work account needs to be fixed" (translated from Hebrew).
This happens even though I signed in successfully.

I tried changing settings in my Microsoft account, but nothing helped.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the error message (in Hebrew).

I would appreciate your help resolving this issue.

Thank you.

    Hi משה_ש,

It's wonderful news that the issue has been clarified. Thank you so much for checking with your school’s IT support and for sharing the outcome. I believe many users may encounter similar limitations with their educational licenses, and your case could serve as a valuable reference for them.

Therefore, I would make a brief summary of this post so that other forum members could easily find useful information here:

    Issue Description:

Unable to use OneNote on a Lenovo tablet with a school account, despite having Office apps installed.

    Assessment:

The school’s Microsoft 365 license only includes activation of Office desktop applications — it does not include access to email or cloud services such as OneDrive, which are required for OneNote to sync and function properly.

    More Information:

If you are experiencing similar issues should check with your school’s IT department or Microsoft 365 administrator to confirm the type of license assigned to their account. If cloud services are not included, OneNote may not work as expected on mobile or tablet devices.

As other users will also search for information in this community, your valuable vote will definitely help others with similar queries easily find the correct channel and useful information more quickly.

Greatly appreciate again your patience and understanding.
