snipped images not displaying on word document

I've got a word document that's used for advising the team on procedures at work. I shared this via email with my manager and she told me that the images pasted from the snipping tool are not displaying, only leaving 'The picture can't be displayed' placeholder. whilst this document was fine on the day i made it, i have since returned to look at the original document to see if it was just due to exporting it but now the original document is saying the same. it is a large document and would take a long time to recreate so im hoping we can resolve this, can someone advise me on what to do? thanks
