I haven't heard of OrbusInfinity, which I suspect means that my clients aren't using it in conjunction with running virtual machines,

I mentioned Parallels and VMware because I know clients have mentioned those products to me, but I can't advise about licensing because I've never gotten involved. A web search for virtual machine software for mac os should provide free and paid VM alternatives.

Sorry I can't be more specific but my goal with my clients is for them to run my Visio add-in. I'm not involved with how they get a VM running, merely that once it's running they can install and run Visio and my add-in.

Microsoft has chosen to invest in a platform-independent solution -- Visio for the web -- as the article linked by HansV implies.

I have many clients who use the desktop version of Visio on a Mac. It's a bit of extra work to get it set up but the end result works fine.

They key is to use Parallels, VMware, or other virtual machine (VM) software on your Mac so you can create a virtual Windows PC. Once that's in place, you can install Visio and any other Windows apps inside the VM.

I have no inside information, but it seems unlikely to me. See Use Visio on a Mac
