Web protection in Microsoft Defender for Android keeps getting disabled

I have a Vivo V25 Pro running Android 13, and I installed the Microsoft Defender app on both my laptop and mobile. However, the web protection on my Android device keeps getting disabled every time. Does anyone have an idea to prevent the web protection from getting disabled?

    Hi Sujal Soans,

I understand that the problem is still the same. At this point, it would be best of you reach out the in-app support team through the help option on the Microsoft Defender app. In that way, they would be able to check on the problem and provide you enough information to resolve the problem. To navigate the help option, you can look for the question mark icon on the app or you can go to its settings.

    We appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Sujal Soans,

    Thanks for getting back.

If that's the case, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Microsoft Defender app from your Android phone. Make sure to restart your device before reinstalling the app.

Let me know for any updates.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Sujal Soans

Thank you for getting back. My apologies for the late response.

I understand that the problem is still the same even after trying the troubleshooting steps. I am suspecting that this might be due to your device’s battery optimization settings. Most mobile devices have features that help to save battery life. Hence, some apps like Microsoft Defender that need to run in the background can be stopped to help save battery. To ensure that the web protection stays enabled, disable battery optimization for the app and allow background activity to run.
