why is cut paste now "show more options, cut, show more options, past)

I have not written nor responded when asked about updates until now. I was asked why would I use old outlook vs new... and responded, but every time, NEW sneaks back it irritates me to no end. How could anyone evaluating this see anything as improvement. Nothing is intuitive. Everything takes a second look to find something, whatever took one click or two now takes many or a search to find. This version is just pitiful. Yes, I miss the days of cut paste. When you try to fix something that is not broken you end up breaking it.

Having to go to "more options" in order to do basic cut and paste functions is seemingly insignificant, but highly annoying. It takes only a small amount of time, but it is completely unnecessary as cutting and pasting are far more common than the other dumb stuff that they want to “streamline” in the right click interface.

    Hi @Pappalardo, Janine,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

I recognize that modifications to familiar features can be quite challenging, especially when tasks like cut and paste suddenly feel less intuitive.

As you mentioned, I tested the behavior in both the new Outlook and the classic Outlook versions, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the exact issue you’re seeing there.

However, this behavior is more commonly observed in Window, where basic actions like Cut and Paste are nested under “Show more options.” This change is part of a broader design update from Microsoft aimed at simplifying the interface, though we understand it might feel like an extra step for long-time users.

By design, the new version doesn't have that feature, if you think this feature is essential, we suggest you give feedback via: Ideas · Community, your feedback is crucial and can help guide future improvements.

If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re happy to help!
