Hello Microsoft Team,
I am writing on behalf of my mother regarding her Microsoft account.
We believe the account may have been compromised, and we are asking if there is any way to request a manual review of the account recovery process.
Timeline
On May 22, 2026, Microsoft sent two security notifications:
- 1:59 PM – Your password changed.
- 2:00 PM – Security info was deleted.
The account owner does not recognize making these changes.
After these events, we completely lost access to the account.
Current situation
- The previous password is no longer accepted.
- Password reset is impossible.
- Microsoft only asks us to verify using an old phone number that has not been available for many years.
- We still have access to the registered email address (******@gmail.com), but Microsoft no longer offers it as a verification method.
This account has been used for many years with Microsoft Office and OneDrive.
It contains more than 20 years of my mother's work, including important Microsoft Word documents stored in OneDrive.
We have already tried the automated recovery process many times without success.
Is there any way to request a manual investigation or have this case reviewed by the Microsoft Account Recovery team?
We can provide screenshots of the Microsoft security notifications, proof of access to the registered email address, and any additional information needed to verify ownership.
Thank you very much for your time.Hello Microsoft Team,
