Wireless headset on MS Teams (Windows 11) stops working after 5 minutes

Hi Everyone,

since I upgraded to Win 11 I have consistent issues with wireless headset on Teams for Business.

The device seems correctly setup, (I tried with Jabra Evolve 65 and Razer Barracuda X), I can start normally a call and for the first 3 to 4 minutes it seems to work properly with the exceptions of some static noise in the audio; after few minutes, tipically 3 to 4, the microphone stops catching sound and the only alternative is switching to a wired microphone or to the built-in one from the laptop.

I already tried updating drivers for all the peripherals, to no improvement.

Does anyone else have the same type of issue? Did anyone find a solution?

Thanks,

Davide

I'm Jane, happy to help you today.

I'm very sorry about your problems. I would suggest you try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Go to the Control Panel (the legacy one)
    2. Open the Device Manager
    3. The headset may be found in the "Sound, video, and gaming controllers" section.
    4. Uninstall Device by right clicking
    5. Make sure the box that reads "Try to uninstall the driver for this device" is checked.
    6. By selecting the "Scan for hardware changes" icon button from the top row menu, you can reinstall the gadget.

Please let me know if you need help with anything else.

    Sincerely,
    Jane.

Ok, after few research on this issue, I got to understand that this is a compability issue between Jabra headsets and teams which several users has reported.
I'll advise you try reaching out to your headset company (Jabra) support to see if they have any other work around that can help.

While thanking you for your understanding, I'll be glad to know if you get any positive response from Jabra support as it will be of great help to other users experiencing the same.

You mention this... but the device I have is listed in Microsoft website as recommended and compatible with teams.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-teams/across-devices/devices/category/headsets/36?filterIds=27&page=1

Also the same happens with other devices of other brands, any wi-fi device I was able to test so far has the same behavior, the same does not happen with bluetooth.

It really is a teams bug in my eyes.
