AVEncCommonBufferOutLevel property
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]
Specifies the final level of the encoding buffer, in bits, at the end of the encoding process. This property applies only to constant bit rate (CBR) and variable bit rate (VBR) encoding modes.
This property is read/write.
Data type

Property GUID
CODECAPI_AVEncCommonBufferOutLevel
Property value
This property has a linear range of values. To get the supported range, call ICodecAPI::GetParameterRange.
Remarks
The property is available only if the encoding duration is defined in advance, using the AVEncVideoNoOfFieldsToEncode property or AVEncAudioIntervalToEncode property.
For MPEG video, this property defines the video buffer verifier (VBV) fullness at the end of the encoding process. It supports the concatenation of streams during encoding.
