Configure Compute Nodes to Allow Connections to Tasks through Remote Desktop with Windows HPC Server 2008 R2
Updated: October 2010
Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008 R2
You can configure the compute nodes in your HPC cluster to allow users to perform tasks by connecting through Remote Desktop to an interactive console session. On the compute nodes that you configure this way, it becomes easier for users to run tasks interactively. To configure a compute node, you change two registry settings. These registry settings are also used to enable the create console functionality for GPGPU jobs. For more information, see Enable the Create Console Functionality for GPGPU Jobs in Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=204012).
