Configuring Job Submission and Scheduling Policies in Windows HPC Server 2008 Step-by-Step Guide

Job templates and job scheduling policies are the two main tools that Windows® HPC Server 2008 administrators can use to control the jobs that are submitted to run on their clusters.
Job templates control what jobs are admitted to the queue. This guide shows how you can create a job template that partitions a group of nodes for a specific group of users. For more information, see Steps: Partitioning a Group of Nodes for a Group of Users.
Scheduling policies control how cluster resources are allocated to the jobs in the queue. This guide also shows you how to configure job scheduling policy options for preemption, adaptive resource allocation, and backfilling.
