Contains the security descriptor of an object and specifies whether the handle retrieved by specifying this structure is inheritable.

Fields

	Name	Description
	bInheritHandle	A boolean value that specifies whether the returned handle is inherited when a new process is created. If this field is true, the new process inherits the handle.
	lpSecurityDescriptor	A pointer to a SECURITY_DESCRIPTOR structure that controls access to the object. If the value of this member is nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic), the object is assigned the default security descriptor associated with the access token of the calling process. This is not the same as granting access to everyone by assigning a nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) discretionary access control list (DACL). The default DACL in the access token of a process allows access only to the user represented by the access token.
	nLength	The size, in bytes, of this structure. Set this value to the size of this structure.

Remarks

A security descriptor contains security information that identifies the object's owner and primary group. It can also contain a DACL that controls access to the object, and a SACL that controls the logging of attempts to access the object.

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
