Stopping an In Progress Build (Team Explorer Everywhere)

You can stop an In Progress or Postponed build from the Queued tab in Build Explorer. You might do this if, for example, you realized that you failed to check in files that you intended to be included in the build.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must have the Stop builds permission set to Allow. For more information, see the following topic on the Microsoft Web site: Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To stop an in-progress build

  1. Open Build Explorer. For more information, see Open Build Explorer and View Build Results.

  2. On the Queued tab, right-click an In Progress or Postponed build, and then click Stop.

You can also highlight the build and then click Stop/Cancel the Build on the toolbar.

    Note

In Visual Studio 2005, in-progress builds appear on the Completed tab, instead of the Queued tab.

  3. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

A Stopped icon appears next to the build definition name.
