Brief Description
Protected Storage (PStore) provides applications with an interface to store user data that must be kept secure or free from modification. Pstore has been changed to read only in Windows Vista® and Windows Server® 2008. This change means that any application that tries to create new PStore data items without using the Data Protection API (DPAPI) will fail.
Remedies
Use DPAPI for future PStore procedures.
