This article describes the new features, improvements and fixes to existing functionality that are included in this build.
Installer version 2.66.149.26061 - Microsoft Store version 11.2603.149.0 updates
New features
Video logs have now been introduced for unattended runs of desktop flows and are available through the desktop flows connector in cloud flows. Subtitles that are generated based on the action logs of the flow are added to the video as well. A registry key is also available for overriding the connector value, duration and path of the saved video.
This feature will gradually roll out in various regions during March.
Self-healing has now been introduced in preview as an AI-powered, agentic feature in Power Automate for desktop, designed to make UI and browser automations more resilient when a captured element can’t be found during runtime. Self-healing acts as a lightweight fallback mechanism for error handling in certain UI and browser automation actions.
This feature will gradually roll out in various regions during March.
The context option ‘Go to flow’ has now been introduced in ‘Run desktop flow’ actions, allowing you to quickly open the designer of the selected flow.
Enhancements & Improvements
The Static analysis tool has now been enhanced to properly support and handle local variables within the desktop flow, enabling more accurate detection of unused variables and proper variable reference analysis.
The error dialog UI has now been extended with inline URL support, multiple remediation hyperlinks, and improved sizing for better user experience.
A new filtering option has now been added to the Version history panel, allowing users to toggle between viewing all versions and only published versions.
The expander headers in the variables pane and variable picker are now entirely clickable for better usability.
New actionable remediation steps have been added for version mismatches between Installer and Store installations, in case of credential retrieval errors.
The logging functionality performance for local subflows has now been improved.
Repaired Functionality
The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:
Several accessibility issues in the console, flow designer, and action modals have been resolved.
The issue where a parent desktop flow runs a child desktop flow and only the child flow uses the ‘Retrieve environment variable’ action, resulting in a null reference exception on version 2.65, has now been resolved.
The issue where no environment variables could be retrieved through the ‘Retrieve Environment Variable’ action’s dropdown menu, while using the action in Sovereign Cloud environments, has now been resolved.
Error handling for environment retrieval during machine registration in the machine runtime app has now been enhanced, by introducing detailed error types and localized messages to better inform the user of specific failures.
The ‘Machine settings’ section in the console settings is no longer visible for free work or school accounts outside Pay-as-you-go environments.
Certain unhandled exceptions occurring during version history reload have now been resolved.
An issue while editing a ‘Set variable’ action in Power Fx flows causing a null reference exception has now been resolved.
The option ‘Create desktop shortcut’ in the flows’ context menu is now only available for published flows, as expected.
Certain exceptions occurring during local variable management have now been resolved.
The ‘Invoke Agent’ operation is now properly available, when the ‘Azure AI Foundry Agent Service’ connector is added to a desktop flow.
An issue that could cause a null reference exception has now been resolved, by adding a check for a null symbol before proceeding with variable handling.
The nested error block behavior has now been resolved, so that inner block errors correctly propagate to the outer block (triggering full block retries).
An issue in scenarios where a child flow times out and the timeout error is caught by error handling using ‘On block error’, leading to subsequent child flows mistakenly failing to run, has now been resolved.
An issue occurring in debugging runs, when converting a custom object back to JSON format after initially reading specific JSON data and converting it to a custom object, has now been resolved.
An issue with importing or running custom actions or UI elements collections when non-ASCII characters are present in their names is now addressed.
