Troubleshoot membership purchase: Buy Now or Renew button is disabled

Note

The Microsoft Partner Network is now called the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program.

At times, the Buy Now or Renew Now button on the Membership Offers page might be disabled due to unmet eligibility criteria. This article helps you identify the reason.

Steps to identify the reason

  1. By using the credentials for your organization's work or school account, sign in to Partner Center.

  2. Select the Membership workspace, and then select Membership offers.

    The button to buy or renew the membership (labeled either Buy Now or Renew Now) might be disabled for one or more offers, as shown in the following example.

  3. Select appropriate link provided in the offer card where the Buy Now or Renew Now button is disabled. The link that appears depends on whether or not you can access an AI assistant.

Note

You can access an AI assistant if the AI icon appears in the upper-right corner of Partner Center.

Select Why the buy now button is disabled?. This link opens the AI assistant on the right pane. The AI assistant lists the unmet criteria, as shown in the following example.

No AI assistant

Select Learn why "Buy/Renew" is disabled?. A flyout pane opens and explains how to meet the requirements to enable an offer purchase, as shown in the following example.

Reasons why the Buy Now or Renew button is disabled

Is the account verified and approved? Accounts aren't vetted. Vetting needs to be completed. To learn more, see Legal info.
Is the renewal window open? Membership purchase isn't in the renewal window. Wait for the renewal window to open to complete the purchase. To learn more, see Renew your membership offers.
Have you met qualification? Qualifications for Solutions Partner designation aren't met. Review your qualification criteria for Solutions Partner designation. To learn more, see Solutions Partner - Overview.
Have you linked or set up your Microsoft Billing Profile on this tenant? The billing profile for your tenant isn't updated. Link your billing profile to this tenant. To learn more, see Link billing account and profile to Partner Center account.

Legacy Gold and Legacy Silver

Is the renewal window open? Membership purchase isn't in the renewal window. Wait for the renewal window to open to complete the purchase.
Have you met the qualification? Qualifications for Solutions Partner designation aren't met. After you achieve a Solutions Partner designation, you can no longer purchase legacy benefits. Instead, you can purchase either Solutions Partner legacy benefits or Solutions Partner benefits. This choice becomes available when you select the buy or renew button of the Solutions Partner offer. As of September 30, 2022, did you hold a Gold or Silver competency status? You didn't hold a Gold or Silver membership on September 30, 2022, so you're ineligible to acquire new legacy Gold or Silver benefit. Focus on qualifying for a Solutions Partner designation.
