Note

As Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition (SfB SE) can only be installed as a SfB Server 2019 in-place upgrade, the only way to install a new SfB SE server is to first install the SfB Server 2019 RTM code and then patch it up to the 7.0.2046.810 (i.e. SE RTM) build, or higher, in one Cumulative Update patching step. Therefore, for the single purpose of building out an SfB SE server, the transitional use of the SfB Server 2019 RTM code is supported by Microsoft until such a time that there is a dedicated single-step SfB SE installer.
