Trial experience

We updated the trial experience based on the Sustainability Manager plans. When you sign up for a new Sustainability Manager trial, you now get access to Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium for 30 days.

After the trial period, if you acquire licenses for Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium, you can convert to production.

If you purchase Microsoft Sustainability Manager Essentials, premium data doesn't display in your environment. The data for the premium features isn't removed, but it's no longer visible. If you purchase Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium after November 1, 2023, you can get functionality added back by updating your environment via Power Platform Admin Center or Microsoft Cloud Solution Center.

Microsoft Sustainability Manager Essentials customer capabilities

With Microsoft Sustainability Manager Essentials, you have access to emissions data for premium categories (scope 3 category 10, 11, 14, and 15), including ingestion of precalculated emissions. Ingestion and calculation capabilities using the underlying activity and reference data sets are part of Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium and aren't available in Microsoft Sustainability Manager Essentials.

The activity and reference data for these categories aren't deleted.

Reporting and insights pages don't show any previously imported activity data and associated calculated emissions for premium data sets for Microsoft Sustainability Manager Essentials customers.

Upgrade process

The upgrade process is handled through licensing. Customers who choose Microsoft Sustainability Manager Premium can add the new features via Solution Center or Power Platform admin center.
