Plan and prepare for Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing in 2024 release wave 2
Important
The 2024 release wave 2 plan covers all new functionalities planned to be delivered to market from October 2024 to March 2025. In this article, you'll find the product overview and what's new and planned for Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing.
Overview
Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing brings both the best of Microsoft and our partners to jointly accelerate the digital transformation in manufacturing by enabling intelligent factories and modernizing the customer experience with the latest digital technologies. It streamlines the complex ecosystem of industry-specific solutions from multiple vendors, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and interoperability. It also bridges the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), and gives customers better data visibility and management across the entire value chain.
In this release wave, we’re excited to introduce a new manufacturing data solution in Microsoft Fabric and copilot template for factory operations on Azure AI. This solution accelerates partners’ ability to perform a decision support and analysis through a natural interface. Manufacturing personas such as process engineers can intuitively discover insights via chat-based interactive queries by reasoning on a manufacturing graph.
Investment areas
Factory Operations Agent in Azure AI
The Factory Operations Agent in Azure AI allows users to access manufacturing data solutions in Microsoft Fabric using simple natural language queries instead of complex technology queries. Powered by large language models and OpenAI, this feature democratizes the use of semantic graph data by lowering the entry barrier for users. The agent is available as APIs for extensibility and integration by ISV applications.
Factory Safety Agent in Copilot Studio
Factory Safety Agent in Copilot Studio leverages the capabilities of Copilot Studio to configure an agent for factory safety audit processes and make it readily deployable across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Manufacturing data solutions in Microsoft Fabric
Manufacturing data solutions in Microsoft Fabric offer semantic data interoperability through an open standards-based manufacturing ontology curated on Microsoft Fabric. The manufacturing data model digitally represents the manufacturing value chain using industry standards, allowing consumers (humans, application developers, or intelligent agents) to traverse the data intuitively. Users can model, ingest, and consume data with manufacturing data solutions. The data also provides rich context for Copilot experiences and unlocking the value of generative AI in a fragmented manufacturing data landscape.
