Business value
Gain insight into how your pricing and promotion changes impact sales volumes. Make smarter, data-driven decisions that boost revenue and reduce inventory risks.
Feature details
Unified pricing management now provides out-of-the-box integration with Demand planning in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. Prices or promotions that you create or update in Unified pricing management automatically synchronize to Demand planning. This synchronization eliminates the need for custom connectors or manual data handoffs. By using this integration, demand planners can incorporate price and promotion changes as input signals when building and refining their demand forecasts. This approach ensures that forecasted sales volumes reflect the expected impact of upcoming pricing actions, leading to more accurate and responsive demand plans.
Key benefits
Integration between Unified pricing management and Demand planning offers the following key benefits for organizations looking to improve their demand planning processes:
- Automated synchronization: Price and promotion updates flow automatically from Unified pricing management to Demand planning, removing manual steps and reducing the risk of stale or misaligned data.
- Price-informed demand forecasting: Demand planners can factor in pricing and promotional changes as leading indicators when predicting future sales volumes, improving forecast accuracy.
- End-to-end visibility across pricing and planning: Bridges the gap between pricing strategy and supply chain planning, enabling more coordinated decision-making across teams.
The pricing and demand planning integration process
Here's how the integration between Unified pricing management and Demand planning works:
- Update a price or promotion: A pricing manager creates or modifies prices and promotions in Unified pricing management.
- Populate the data entity: The system automatically populates the price and promotion time data into a dedicated data entity, keeping it up to date with the latest pricing actions.
- Import to Demand planning: Demand planning imports the data according to its configured schedule, making the latest price and promotion information available for forecasting.
- Forecast with pricing signals: Demand planners leverage the imported price and promotion data as input signals in their forecasting models to predict how pricing changes will affect future sales volumes.
