Business value

Pricing teams and sales managers can preview how line-level attributes (such as package type, warranty coverage, or service tier) affect the final price before committing to a sales order. This reduces pricing errors, shortens the quote-to-order cycle, and gives organizations finer control over attribute-driven price differentiation across complex product catalogs.

Feature details

Unified pricing management in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management lets you define pricing rules that incorporate product and order attributes. With this feature, you can now extend that capability to sales order line attributes and evaluate their impact in the price simulator before creating an actual sales order.

Sales order line attributes are product attributes that you designate as price attributes. After you organize these attributes into attribute groups and connect them to pricing management parameters, they become available in pricing rules such as trade agreements, margin price adjustments, and discounts. Different attribute value combinations can yield different prices for the same SKU and customer.

The price simulator (Pricing management > Price simulator) now supports these line-level attributes. You can:

  • Define simulation scenarios: Enter customer, product, and quantity details, then assign specific attribute values to each sales line.
  • Preview calculated prices: The simulator applies your pricing rules and displays the resulting prices, so you can validate expected outcomes before creating a real order.
  • Compare attribute combinations: Adjust attribute values and recalculate to see how different combinations affect the final price.

Sales quotations also support line-level price attributes. When you assign attribute values to quotation lines and recalculate, the system applies the same pricing rules to produce accurate, attribute-driven prices on the quotation.

To use this feature, you must turn on Unified Pricing Management in feature management and you must be running Supply Chain Management version 10.0.47 or later. Configure your price attributes under Product information management > Setup > Categories and attributes, then link them to pricing management through the Pricing management parameters page.
