Can Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 be installed on Citrix servers to be run by citrix clients? This would be an ASP.Net development team so they would potentially need to debug on IIS.
Has anyone done this and have experience with it?
Thanks,
Dale

Hi Dylan,
As far as I know, it depends on what Citrix product you use. If you use XenDesktop (VDI), it only shows the desktop of the virtual machine (like RDP terminal to a VPC) and you should be able to debug the IIS process on the same VM. If you use XenApp which just provision a single process, it is isolated secure environment and you will not able to debug other running process.
I would recommend double checking with Citrix.

There might be a solution in this thread, but never confirmed : http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vssetup/thread/10f09b4c-9eeb-45b5-956e-f4693637321b/

Thanks, Dylan. I read that thread before posting my question. It appears to address one issue that could come up but doesn't really indicate any success in running it for doing real work. There's surprisingly little available information on this topic. That probably tells me something in itself.
