I have a Word document and inserted a Pie Chart. I selected a style with color legends ... after applied the style, I saved the document. However, when I open it again, the color legend will become a single color again.
Any idea?
Apply the pre-defined style of color legends.
After save and open again.

Hi UAW,
Your problem is related to the Data format labels of Format Data Series. The value style of Data labels in your Document is not fit for the Chart Style.
The (value) is not the correct style for Pie Chart.
So please uncheck Data Labels to clear all values in Chart.
Then recheck Data labels, now please right click labels and select Data format Series:
Then you can change these options as shown in the following pictures:
Please follow these steps and let me know the result, hope it's helpful.

Does this problem appear in all Word files?
I tested this problem in my environment, I didn't get this problem.
My version number is 16.0.7329.1054.
First please confirm if this problem appears in all Word files.
Then please provide the version number of your Word.
If this problem only appears in a particular file, please try to save as the file with a new name.
If possible, you can also share the problem file via OneDrive.

Frankly speaking, I have no idea on what is happening. I would suppose by changing the style is the quickest and easiest way to perform this task.
