I'm not a developer. All I want to do is open a very old but favorite password file that was created years ago. Unfortunately, it is a WSP file and now Windows won't open it for me. Visual Studio claims it can open them. Can someone please walk me through opening it. That is all I ask. PLEASE......

Hi DottieG,
Did you use SharePoint 2010?
Are there any relationship between SharePoint 2010 and your wsp file?
As this forum is for SharePoint 2010, for this issue, I suggest you create a new thread on Visual Studio forum.
The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

Hi DottieG,
Wendy is right. still you can edit the wsp file by changing the extension from .wsp to .cab and extract and will get all the content present in the wsp file.
Still if you have any queries then post your query in the Visual Studio forum as Wendy mentioned.
