Slow windows 10 logon while connected to network

I have an ultrabook on a Domain connected to the network via Dock. The problem I have is that each time I log in to the PC it takes 2-3 minutes to let in. This only happens when connected via Ethernet. Lately I have started pulling out the network cable and it lets me in immediately. 

If a new user logs in, it take 2-3 minutes to get the users name on the lock screen. And then the wait time to setup the new user ( which is normal)

So there is no delay to login if PC is offline. This is the same each time the screen is locked. After each screen timeout I have to wait for 2- 3 minutes to log back in. 

I can't try wifi as I have to run VPN to connect remotely, so it logs me in immediately. I have tried usb-c Ethernet connector and it still takes 2-3 minutes. 

Any help at this stage is much appreciated.

To better under our question, please confirm the following information:

  1. Whether all the machines connected via Ethernet will logon slowly?

  2. Whether we configure roaming profile for domain users?

  3. Would you please tell us which stage we wait for 2-3 minutes (load GPO or load profile)and provide the screenshot?

  4. Do we configure software installation GPO?

Thanks for your help. Please see info as requested. 

1. No, this is the only PC that is affected. Since it was reimaged. The same image was used on other PC with no issues. 

2. No, we use local profile.

3. How do I get this info

Hi,
For Q3 and Q4:

A3. This is the interface we observed, which interface ( load GPO or load profile)does it take 2-3 minutes?

A4. We can check on gpresult file.

For user configuration:

  1. Logon one client with domain user account.
  2. Create a new folder in C drive named Folder.
  3. Open CMD, type gpresult /h C:\Folder\report.html and click Enter.
  4. Open report file to check the policies under User Configuration.

For computer configuration:

  1. Logon one client with Administrator.
  2. Open CMD, run as administrator.
  3. Type gpresult /h C:\report.html and click Enter.
  4. Open report file to check the policies under Computer Configuration.

Meanwhile, we can troubleshoot as below:

1. Perform clean boot and logon the machine with our account, check if we logon still slowly.

2. Close all the firewall and third firewall and check if we logon still slowly.

3. Check if we configure the following policy:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon

I am unable to post gpresult, its on a corporate account. I know you might not be able to help me without it. 

I have tried your troubleshoot but didn't work.

Do we mean when we perform clean boot and logon the machine with our account, it is still slow logon?

Please check below parameters as there can be multiple reasons of slow logon:

1. The login scripts configured for Impacted user from Resultant Set of Policy

Open Run - Type RSOP.msc

Select **User Configuration-> Windows Settings -> Scripts ->Logon **

On the right hand pane check if there is any startup script configured for the user.

2. Open CMD type "SET L" without quotes and see if the DC which is authenticating the user is correct.

There are chances that user is getting Authenticated through different Site/DC, if this is the case all user on that VLAN will face the issue.

3. Check if multiple WMI filtered GPO's are applied on machine.

4. Outdated drivers: Your network interface card (NIC) should use the latest drivers installed. (Machine Dependent)

5. Outdated operating system (OS) patch level: Your operating system should have the latest service pack installed from windows. (Machine Dependent) 

6. Home folders: This could impact your logon times because instead of looking at a local location for system DLL’s, the client machine will look for them in the home folder instead. If that mapped network share is across a wide area network (WAN) link that is slow you can bet that your logon time is going to suffer even more.

7. Others - Startup Applications and Antivirus Programs which can delay the logon.
