My company has been using SharePoint and I recently got hired and was put in charge of SharePoint. My end user keep getting an error of insufficient storage when uploading. I understand that I need access to Central Admin in order to make changes. How do I obtain access to Central Admin . I have tried clicking on start and searching for SharePont Products 2010 but do not see that on my computer. I also went to site action and setting but do not see any options there. Please help.

Hello Mufi,
You will not see SharePoint Products section on your computer, this option is available from within the SharePoint server. The option you talked about, which is site actions, is from within the site collection itself. If you have access to this, that doesn't mean you are a farm admin.
You must have specific permissions in order to become farm admin, please check this post:
http://blogs.devhorizon.com/reza/2012/03/07/adding-additional-farm-admins-to-an-existing-farm/
Remember that there are different types of admins, you can be an admin on the site collection itself, or be added to a group inside the site collection where you have full control permissions (that's when you can access site actions). But to manage the farm itself and be able to access central admin, you need to become a farm admin, and that's what's explained in the link provided.

To access the SharePoint Product, 1st you have to find on Which Server SharePoint Installed. If you dont know about the server, then try to trace the URL of the Site collection. thats way atleast you will get WFE's name.
Once you know the server name, then login on the server and check under which account SharePoint Timer Service is running( from services Console).
Then login with that account on the server and open the SharePoint Central admin and then configure the additional Farm administrator.

You would need to contact the server administrators. You will find a shortcut to the Central Admin site on the SharePoint web front end server.
Central Administration is accessed via a URL that typically includes a port number. Something like

Thanks for the help Mike. Would the server administrator be the person who has SharePoint configured on the device; apparently my company does not have a designated admin. I am just confused in how to get access to "sharepoint product".
