Edge Opening New Window Instead of a New Tab

Question

Wednesday, March 25, 2020 9:07 PM

I'm trying to switch to Edge from IE - and I'll keep quiet about my opinion of Edge so far - but having some problems.  I use a password vault called KeeePass with which has links to the site for which the credentials to be used for the selected link.  In IE and Chrome when I click on one of the links, they automatically open the site in a new tab.  In Edge, however, they open in a new window, which causes me no end of problems.

I've searched the internet for an answer but got answers to everything under the sun EXCEPT one to my question.  I don't even know if I'm in the correct forum because There's no selection for Microsoft Edge.

Can anyone tell me how to make Edge switch to a new tab instead of a new window???

Hi,

You cannot automatically open links in a new tab. But here are some methods to achieve.

  1. press "Ctrl+T" keys
  2. click on "+" in title bar
  3. use middle mouse button (scroll wheel button)

Also you can download new version of Edge.
