How to retain rich text formats from SharePoint List when exporting to Excel

Question

Wednesday, July 30, 2014 9:22 PM

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to retain all the rich text formatting (bullets, bolded text, highlighted text, etc.) once the list has been exported to Excel.

The idea is to allow users to update comments using SharePoint, then export it to Excel for the reporting piece.

Thank you,

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to retain the rich text formats when exporting SharePoint list to excel.

By default, not all format will be kept after exporting to excel. If you would like to keep these properties, I suggest that you do it by using code.
