Hi,
When I'm running the powershell command Set-mailUser I'm getting this error below. I can find the user in the AD on prem and the user is also sync in the Azure AD. What could be I'm doing wrong?
The operation couldn't be performed because object 'User' couldn't be found on 'dc.domain.name'.
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Set-MailUser], ManagementObjectNotFoundException

Any number of things, including:
- The user Identity is misspelled.
- You're using a name for the user that isn't a valid Identity.
- The user isn't a mail user.
- The user object is in a different domain.
Since you didn't tell us anything except that you got an error, we can't do anything but guess.

Hi Ed,
Here is my response below. I'm still learning stuffs so please have some patience to me.
-The user Identity is misspelled. > I type the login name which is example "HPotter"
- -You're using a name for the user that isn't a valid Identity. > How to know if the name is a valid Identity
- -The user isn't a mail user. > The user as a mailbox in Exchange Online which I wanted to move to Exchange On Prem
- -The user object is in a different domain > There is only one domain which is "domain.name" sync to azure active directory.

Then the recipient is a mailbox, not a mail user, and you're using the wrong cmdlet. It would be Set-Mailbox.
