Question

I'm a network admin in a public library. A few days ago, a staff member made me aware that she could no longer print to our Konica c220 multifunction color printer. Until then she could print fine. Nothing has changed on the server or her machine (windows 7) and so on. Virus and malware scans show all clean. Also, a new dell OptiPlex 990 out of the box is having the same issue - although it's windows 10.
I have d/l the latest driver from Konica's site for this printer. I used the package I d/l to uninstall the printer and drivers - restarted as instructed. Ran the install and after selecting the printer once it found it on the network, I let it install. All seems well and when printing a test page - it does print - just not in color. These are the only 2 machines having this difficulty. The rest of the building can print to that C220 fine and in color.
I have removed the printer several times - and reinstalled several times...even have tried different drivers..all with no luck. Every time, it will print but only in black and white. I have made sure that color is selected and so on, still no color printing.
Anyone have any ideas on why only these 2 machines will not print in color? Also and why one of them was fine until a few days ago?
Thanks!
Bryan

Thanks all for the help. Turns out that it was an authentication/permissions problem. Was resolved by clicking the basic tab then selecting the authentication button in the Konica printer settings. Printer is set up to only print color if the correct user name and password is entered on the authentication screen. Thanks again for the replies, Atomic

Have you checked the settings on the printer itself? Either from its front panel or its web interface to check color is not disable on the printer itself?

Hi Bryan,
Did you mean that Windows 7 have the same problem and then work fine without any action?
Try this:
Open your printer properties to check whether your printer has a non color option, and make sure that it isn't selected
If the issue persists, remove all of your printer spooler:
1. Type service.msc into RUN box.
2. Stop Print Spooler service.
3. Go to the C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers folder and deleted all files.
4. Shutdown the computer, restart the Windows and reinstall the printers and drivers to confirm the issue.
