We have a lot of mobile users. Some of them goes to Industrial sites with their laptops. Everyone has Office 365 Pro Plus. Users use One Drive to sync documents from SharePoint Online. They also share folders among their teammates directly from their personal One Drive folder.
Recently, one of the users told me that his hyperlinks to other documents are not working as expected. They have one master Excel Sheet and it has got hyperlinks to other Excel files within the same folder or subfolders. All the files are saved in One Drive.
When they click the hyperlink in Excel file, it directly opens the linked file in Excel Online in the Web Browser. Is there any way to change this to open directly with Excel application installed on the computer. While the users are at the site, the hyperlink opens in Internet Explorer and says website not available. Because they don’t have the internet when at the site. This is really frustrating for them. Is there a way to fix his? Please advice.

Hi,
When a hyperlink is created in an excel file saved on OneDrive, clicking on the hyperlink from the OneDrive desktop app opens the file from the local path. If the same hyper link on excel saved on OneDrive is accessed from the OneDrive web the hyperlinks changes.
Please try to recreate the link from excel to the documents saved on desktop OneDrive app and check.

Hi there,
The value of hyperlink in one of the cell in Excel is C:\Users\username%\Onedrive - {organizationName}\Documents\folder\file1.xlsx
I am looking for a way to open file1.xlsx when I click the cell.
However, the behavior is such that it directly tries to open in Excel Online. Opens Internet Explorer (default browser) and ask for O365 login credentials.
