Group Policy Warning Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Question

Hi,

I am seeing the following logged under Windows 10 machines as a warning:

GroupPolicy 1085 Cannot create a file when that file already exists. It is doing it for all preference items when it happens, I guess the user may be logged on already and the policy possibly does exist.

Anything to worry about? I don't see this warning on previous versions of Windows...

Kind Regards,

John

Hi,

I already found this but it never gets to a conclusion so not very helpful i'm afraid.

Kind Regards,

John

Hi ,

Have you tried these methods in this similar case?
Due to the limited working environment, it is not available for me to test this. We would appreciate it if you would post back the test result.

In addition, I found an article about Event ID 1085, this article provide instructions to further diagnose the problem.
