Click the ellipsis in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window, then click "Settings".
Click or tap the "Choose what to clear" button
Make sure "Browsing history", "Cookies and saved website data", and "Cached data and files" are checked and click or tap the "Clear" button.
Close and re-open Edge.
Now recheck the issue.
You could open it with Internet Explorer as a workaround or, you can create another user account to recheck the issue.

Hi,
In addition,You still can browse this website by clicking “Continue to this website (not recommended)”, this error message states that the security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority, and normally you could continue to this website and install/import the certificate to trusted certificate authority for the website. So it will never show again. But “Bing” should not with this problem. Make sure you are not accessing a malicious site. Click on continue to this website (not recommended) – most of us do this directly. Close the webpage if you have any doubts which it could be a malicious site. Click on more information and on certificate error button to open information window.
If you get the message, there is a problem with website security certificate, then here are the steps to take.
It is due to a genuine cause, then the website owner need to purchase the certificate for every web server from respective authorities. For this you need to contact website owner and complain about this issue.
To resolve this issue, you need to install Issuer CA on trusted Root certification authority container. In the internet options on your browser, add the URL to your trusted websites list and exit. Then open Internet Explorer browser and navigate to the site and click on continue. Now click on the certificate error and click on View certificates and then click on install certificates option and place it in the trusted certificates authority.
Incorrect time and date is one of the reason for this. So check your system clock – date and time, if it correct? Ok, otherwise change it to the correct time.
If this issue still persists, try navigating to Tools, internet options, content, and then clicked on "Clear SSL state" under Internet Explorer.

D. Wu

This problem is starting to annoy me. I like Edge, I want to use it as my default browser but I can't because of these problems. I have a problem getting into, amongst other sites, www.outlook.com. I would suggest that there is no "real" security certificate problem with this site.
Of course if Microsoft want people to not use Edge but use Firefox, which has no problem with any site that I've tried so far, then don't bother to come up with a fix.

On the 'There is a problem with this website’s security certificate', what does the second paragraph say as the reason? Probably starts with something like 'The security certificate for this site..'

Clearing the Browsing history, Cookies and Cached files did not help the situation as the Certificate error continues to appear on every SSL site I visit. Firefox works just fine on the same sites.

You give detailed and easy to follow instructions but unfortunately they will not work for me as the “Continue to this website (not recommended)” is not an option because when I click on it, the Edge browser will not continue to the website with the SSL certificate error. Adding the URL to trusted sites does not allow me access to the page either.

It is also possible to get a certificate error if your PC is set for the wrong time.
But if you are getting this error from your browser, more information is needed. There should be a way to find out what in particular the software found a problem with. Mr Happy mentions this. Cert errors can be a case-by-case basis and any attempt to troubleshoot with generic messages is foolhardy.

In addition to what Tripredacus if the issue is some sites post the links so others can test as well. Also the site https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/ tests \ reports on SSL on sites and show issues with certificates and certificate chains.

I've just (today) started getting this same error, on Wikipedia. It is occurring on my Windows 10 Mobile and one PC; I have two other PCs which are fine. All devices are running 14393.321 and the same version of Edge (except I don't know about the mobile version of Edge). All devices have the same Edge settings; caches have been cleared, clocks are correct etc etc.
The problem with Edge is that we have no way to circumvent such issues. IE11 would give the option to "go there anyway", but Edge does not; and it has no security settings, worth bothering with (though, as I say, each device is set up identically, and all worked perfectly, yesterday). It's all well and good saying that it cannot be tackled through generic messages, but when Edge only gives those, it seems impossible to attempt anything else. This is what Edge gives me:
There is a problem connecting securely to this website
The security certificate presented by this website is not secure.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this web page and do not continue to this website.

OK... I've corrected the issue on my one affected PC, by removing yesterday's security update. How can I possibly do that, on my Mobile? Worse, that update is now being downloaded again, by the PC, and will soon be installed again, no doubt. Furthermore, why did this not affect my other two PCs, which were both updated with the same update?
There is obviously an issue, it seems to me.

I got the security update and i am having the same problem. I get an error message telling me that there is a problem with the certificate on the page I am trying to access but it doesn't give me the option to continue to the site. I can't find anyway to tell Edge that a particular site can be trusted despite certificate errors. Internet Explorer has no problem but i prefer to use Edge.

As I mentioned, I had the problem on one PC and a phone; my other devices remained unaffected, though they had the same update.
I removed the update from the affected PC, in 'control panel - Programs - updates' and the PC was fine again. The update reinstalled, almost immediately. However, the PC is still fine, even after the update's installation.
Bizarrely, my phone almost simultaneously started working fine, too! I can offer no sensible explanation for this (the phone had no further updates or even a restart). I suppose it could be some sort of synchronisation effect; or perhaps it was never an issue locally, but one with Wikipedia (in my case) - but that would not explain my two other PCs being fine and entirely unaffected, throughout.
Anyway, I thought I'd better rehearse my actions to this site, in case it benefits anyone else.
