Installing IIS on Windows 10 D: drive

Question

Thursday, July 11, 2019 1:33 PM

I need to install IIS on Windows 10 D partition. As the C partition is a VDISK (Citrix). Developers need to develop and access IIS and create all their sites etc in D drive. How can I go about getting this installed in D drive. By default if I go through programs and features to install, it is going to install to the C drive. Isn't that true?

We usually don’t install IIS on a non-system partition, but place inetpub folder and website data on another partition. You could configure this in IIS settings.

In the IIS Manager utility, navigate to site->Basic Settings->physical path.
