multiple Dns possible in one Domain

Hi,

Hope you are fine and doing well actually i have one question i hope you will guide me 

my question is that it is possible in server 2012 or server 2016   we can  configure multiple DNS server  in one domain.

PL guide me

Yeah. It’s certainly feasible to configure multiple DNS server in one domain. The DNS has a built in mechanism to support multiple DNS service providers because it has the concept of primary name servers that have the master copy of the DNS information or zone file. Secondary or slave name servers are updated from the primary name server using a standards based zone transfer mechanism. You may refer to the following exhibit.

The purpose of having more than one nameserver on a domain is redundancy, if there are multiple then each nameserver would be expected to contain the same records as its peers.

If standard DNS domain, secondary DNS server will update its resource records from primary DNS by zoon transfer.

If AD-integrated DNS domain, DNS servers in same domain will update its domain zoon synchronously from each other.
