Hi,
With office 2010, I was able to click on the scroll bar in excel/word/outlook and move the mouse up and down and scroll thru the pages but now it just display the page number and doesn't actually scroll thru the pages.
How do I get office 2016 to scroll thru the pages while holding down the scroll bar?
Thanks

Hi,
Do you mean you cannot scroll through the pages in all Office 2016 applications?
Please try to right-click the Scroll bar, select Scroll Up and Scroll Down to have a try. Additionally, please go to Control Panel > Programs and features, select Office, click Change > Repair (Online Repair for click-to-run version) to have a try.
Regards,
Winnie Liang

No, I mean I can click on the scroll bar and scroll up and down but the pages don't move/change until I let go of the left mouse button.
With Office 2010, I can click on the scroll bar while holding down the left mouse button and actively scroll up and down.
With Office 2016, I can do the same but the pages don't move/change when I scroll until I let go of the left mouse button.

Any update on this?
I notice drag and scroll is actually working with Office 2016 if you are on the computer physically.
When using Remote Desktop, Office 2016 drag and scroll does not work. The drag and scroll works but the content is not updated until the mouse is released.
When you are on the computer physically, drag and scroll works and you see the new content without the need to release the mouse.
Thanks

We understand exactly what you mean! We have the same issue on one of our laptops for Office 2013.
I moved the user to the office PC and when he logged in under his user account he had exactly the same issue so maybe it could be user related??
Would be good if someone from Microsoft could look into this and advise as it is most frustrating for this user.

I know this is quite old, but I'm having the same issue with Excel 2016 and was wondering if there was a solution. It works fine in 2013 but I would rather not revert back.
To elaborate on the issue, in case further explanation is needed... I'm connecting to a Windows 10 computer via Remote Desktop and using Excel 2016. When I click on the horizontal/vertical scroll bar and drag it to the right or left/up or down, the spreadsheet does not move along with it in real-time. Not until I release the mouse does the spreadsheet go to the new location. This makes it very difficult, ultimately impossible, to view the spreadsheet while horizontally/vertically scrolling using the click and drag method.
Thanks
