modify Windows to keep the processes running when the computer is locked

Question

Hello!

Is there a way to make the corsair cue software work while computer is locked? maybe a registry edit or policy configuration.

When the computer gets locked windows stops all background processes, and CUE is one of those.

I'd have to modify Windows to keep the processes running when the computer is locked, I'm not aware of any edit available for that.

does anyone have any idea to make a process talk to USB devices while computer is locked?

When PC is locked, you application would run in background and you are login. However if you log off or put your PC in sleep mode, then your application and processor will be suspended.

Hi Theletha,

"When the computer gets locked "
Do you mean the machine got locked with screensaver or it goes to sleep mode?

As Cyber_Defend_Team pointed out, the applications are running background when the machine is locked. But the processor will be suspended when the machine goes to sleep mode and  the machine's state is stored in the RAM. It is by design and it is not configurable.

We may could try to disable the powersaving feature of the device from the device manager if the driver supports this feature.

Best regards

The problem is that i use a corsair RGB keyboard and i have effects that make my leds do all sort of stuff blinking and what not and it is reliable on the CUE software from corsair and if i lock the computer the keyboard can't talk to the CUE software and my keyboards goes into static light. what i want is to get the cue software to be able to talk to the keyboard even when windows is locked not asleep but LOCKED  (WinKey+L)

Hi Theletha,

"what i want is to get the cue software to be able to talk to the keyboard even when windows is locked not asleep but LOCKED  (WinKey+L)"
I think this issue is more related to the software. It is recommended to ask for help from the software developer. They are more familiar with their product and they may have more resources to help you.
