Question

Hi,
About two weeks ago the F12 ( Go To Definition) stopped working. Instead of going to a method it takes me to a class definition [From metadata].
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm using VS2010 Premium and the solution is C#/ASP/.net4 if that makes a difference.
thanks

Hi,
If we right click and choose go to definition, can it work well?
We can check the setting of keyboard from Option->Enviroment->Keyboard. When key F12 in the Press shortcut keys, what is the shortcut currently used by?
Best regards,
Ego [MSFT]

Hi
Right click go to definition also does not work.
The F12 key is also correctly defined in the options.

I think the function of go to definition has been broken.
You can repair your Visual Studio through control panel.

How? You mean the Windows control panel?
Sorry I had to unmark it as the answer but it wasn't. This problem is still unresolved.

Mine never worked. Turns out I had to set up the solution first. Perhaps you have somehow managed to lose track of your solution and need to reassociate it? I am posting this because no one else mentioned this possibility. As soon as I associated with the solution over Team Foundation Server, the F12 key (option was greyed out on right-click) showed up as not greyed out anymore and worked.
Best of luck to you!

Hi,
Try this out:
Go to Tools -> Options -> Keyboard, Reset all settings.
Restart your visual studio and then try to use F12.
It worked for me, hope it works for you also. :)
