Hi Dear all
I face a problem which drives me crazy these days.
we have 1 office and 15 branches with interanet connection between them.all servers can see each other with their IP address(form office to branch and branch to office).
but we aren't in the same forest.after implementing interanet connection I'd like to make a forest trust between office and one of my branches.but when I want to set Conditional forward(set branchdomain.com in Conditional forward) in office DNS server I give the following error:
a problem occurred while trying to add the conditional forwarder. a zone configuration problem occurred
so I can't set up Conditional forward and a result I can't see mybranchdomain.com.
for example when I ping BranchDC.Com with IP everything is ok but we can't see via FQDN.
Plz plz help me.
this is an urgent need.thx an advanced

Hi,
Is there any conflict in your DNS? Have you seen any error or warning in the DNS log or Event viewer?
I think we need detailed information for troubleshooting. If it is possible, could you post the error message in DNS log and Event viewer?
Here are the steps of adding a conditional forwarder,
- Open DNS Manager. To open DNS Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DNS.
- In the console tree, double-click the applicable DNS server. Expand DNS, and then double-click Applicable DNS server.
- In the console tree, click Conditional Forwarders, and then on the Action menu, click New conditional forwarder.
- In DNS domain, type the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain for which you want to forward queries.
- Click the IP addresses of the master servers list, type the IP address of the server to which you want to forward queries for the specified DNS domain, and then press ENTER.
Note: Membership in the Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
We would be happy to help you as soon as we have your detailed information.
