Hi

1. I'm on Win 10 and Office 365 University.
2. I have a OneDrive folder. In this folder I have a DropBox folder 411GB in size.
3. When I try to add a 97GB folder to it, I get the message "There is not enough space on OneDrive. You need an additional 49GB to copy these files".
4. However, when I look at my Office account it says only 11.5GB used of 1.03TB. So the 11.5GB is wrong, and in addition  if the 1.03TB is right, the previous message is wrong.
What is going on?

Hi Friasco,

>> When I try to add a 97GB folder to it, I get the message "There is not enough space on OneDrive. You need an additional 49GB to copy these files".

Would you please tell us more details about how you tried to add a 97GB folder to OneDrive? Did you directly copy and paste it to the local OneDrive folder?

According to the error message, I assume that the issue might be related to that there is not enough space on the computer’s hard drive. Please try taking the following steps to see if the folder can be added as expected:

  1. Under the local OneDrive folder, create a separate new folder.
  2. Right click the new folder, select Choose OneDrive folders to sync:

3. Clear the checkbox of the new folder:

4. Go to OneDrive for Business in the web browser, click Upload, try adding the 97GB folder to the above new folder.

>>  However, when I look at my Office account it says only 11.5GB used of 1.03TB. So the 11.5GB is wrong, and in addition  if the 1.03TB is right, the previous message is wrong.

How did you check the storage in the Office account? Please right click the local OneDrive folder, select Properties, confirm the size information on the General tab:

As for the concern of the 411GB DropBox folder, please check if the folder has a green check mark , which indicates it has been synced to the cloud. I am afraid it has not been sync to OneDrive due to the restrictions and limitations applied for OneDrive for Business.

Hope the above information can be helpful. Please let us know the updates at your convenience.

Yuki Sun

Thanks for your detailed response.

The first problem was indeed low disk space, and is fixed.

Regarding the second point, the 1.03TB is correct and there is currently 411GB in OneDrive. However, on the web (https://onedrive.live.com) none of the newer content shows up and it says "11.5GB used" no matter how the content size changes.

Hi Friasco,

>> However, on the web (https://onedrive.live.com) none of the newer content shows up and it says "11.5GB used" no matter how the content size changes.

Do you mean you the new added files didn't display on the web(https://onedrive.live.com)?
Would you please try right clicking the local OneDrive, select View Online to have a check:

By the way, does the 411GB folder have a green check mark on the folder icon?

I don't have "Choose OneDrive folders to sync".  I have only "View online", "Always keep on this device" and "Free up space".
