Hello,
I'm trying to find a solution for deploying a GPO in a domain that is able to modify the behavior of the "Combine taskbar buttons" from the default of "Always, hide labels"
to "When taskbar is full"
I've tried both methods described on TenForums https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/104774-enable-disable-grouping-taskbar-buttons-windows.html deploying registry edit and also Group Policy but nothing seems to work.
If you know a method that does work, please share.
Thank you,
Jason M. Madruga

Hi Jason,
On my Windows 10 Enterprise 13134.228 machine, Prevent grouping of taskbar items policy works fine, icons in taskbar aren’t grouped, regardless of current user or new created user.
For registry method:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoTaskGrouping
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoTaskGrouping
By setting their value to "0"

This Group Policy doesn't work for me too.
I am using Windows Insider Enterprise Build #18234 Skip Ahead.

Hi,
Thanks for that, for whatever reason it's working with the GPO with Prevent grouping of taskbar items policy. I don't think the registry edits are for Windows 10, there is no Explorer folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
I like the way it behaves now with this setting
As more space becomes available, it starts to expandshow the label of the icon.
Thank you,
Jason
