Question

Hello,

When I open Exchange Management Shell, I get back the following error:

New-PSSession : [ecserver.domain.local] Connecting to remote server ecserver.domain.local failed with the following error message : WinRM canno
t process the request. The following error with errorcode 0x80090342 occurred while using Kerberos authentication: An unknown security erro
r occurred.
* Possible causes are:*
*  -The user name or password specified are invalid.*
*  -Kerberos is used when no authentication method and no user name are specified.*
*  -Kerberos accepts domain user names, but not local user names.*
*  -The Service Principal Name (SPN) for the remote computer name and port does not exist.*
*  -The client and remote computers are in different domains and there is no trust between the two domains.*
* After checking for the above issues, try the following:*
*  -Check the Event Viewer for events related to authentication.*
*  -Change the authentication method; add the destination computer to the WinRM TrustedHosts configuration setting or use HTTPS transport.*
* Note that computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be authenticated.*
*   -For more information about WinRM configuration, run the following command: winrm help config. For more information, see the about_Remot*
e_Troubleshooting Help topic.

I just want to mention that the WinRM service is up and running. I run the Cmdlet "Enable-PSRemoting.

How to solve that.

Thanks in advance

Kostas

1. Check permission for your account

2. Restart  Windows Remote Management service from services console.

3. Check replication status if you using more than one DC

4. Log off and login again and try

5. Check following and it may be useful,

Hi Mousmoulis Kostas,

Is it the first time you trying to connect to Exchange server with Remoting Powershell?

Was Exchange Powershell working without issue when opening it directly?

Make sure an internal firewall or the Windows Remote Management service has been started.
