Hi v4corg,

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

Please check this doc: How to: Locate the Visual Studio Product Key and usually we can look for the product key from the installation media (if applicable), on the My.VisualStudio.com website or Documentation or other communication from the vendor from whom you purchased the software.

Where did you brought this product key? If you are not sure about it, please try to call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist to get a better support.

Meanwhile, you can also check this similar issue: Where can I find what license key was used in my installed copy of Visual Studio 2008? and open the registry table, check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\Registration\xxxxxx\PIDKEY to have a test.

Best regards,

Sara

Hi Sara,

Thank you for the quick response.
I actually think its my fault - i used to use the 2015 community edition, and downloaded and installed the 2015 pro version after my computer crashed. So thats that.

Thanks for your help.
