Question

Hi All
I have just installed Visual Studio 2017 rc community from https://www.visualstudio.com/. On the web page it mentioned it is ready for SharePoint development, but I can not create any SharePoint projects or solutions.
Is there an Office Tools for Visual Studio 2017 or do I need to waste another two hours of my life uninstalling Visual Studio 2017 and then installing Visual Studio 2015 and Office Tools for Visual Studio 2015?
Please help. Colin

This only includes application for Visual studio 2015 ( OfficeToolsForVS2015.exe ) and not Visual studio 2017. I get an error when I try to install it.

I get the same thing as ceBlueSky, just 2015 Office tools which it won't install since I have VS 2017. I just uninstalled 2015 and "upgraded" to 2017 yesterday.

Hi ceBlueSky,
As this issue is more related to the Office tools installation for Visual Studio 2017, I will move it to Visual Studio forum, you will get more detailed information from there and more experts will help you about this issue.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Best Regards

Can you check again?
As per https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/releasenotes/vs2017-relnotes#officedev, it is included in RC itself.

How do you activate it? No Office or SharePoint projects showup, even when search for project Templates. Below are the screenshots:
I hope you can help

What do I have to do to get it to appear in Visual Studio Community 2017 RC. It was working in the Visual Studio Community 2015 version so I thought it would also be available in the 2017 Community version as well. I am learning SharePoint and can not afford the Professional version of Visual Studio 2017.

Hi Colin,
As VS 2017 is still the RC (Release Candidate), so far it doesn't support Office develop in its community edition, I'm afraid we have to wait for the RTM, and we will see if it includes Office develops tools at that time.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards,
Fletcher
