Question

Hi!
As I understand it, the simplest form of Office 365 is available free of charge for non-profit organisations. This is Office 365 Nonprofit Business Essentials. I have some questions regarding this.
1. With this option I can create up to 300 email accounts?
2. By default the address will be [email protected] where xxx is whatever i choose (given that it's available)
3. I can also purchase a domain through the office365 admin portal if I need to create accounts like [email protected]
If 1-3 are correct, how much does it cost to purchase the domain (roughly) through the Office365 admin portal
Thanks
Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,
1. Yes that is the limit
2. If you do not add a custom domain on O365, then the users will be associated with the default email address i.e. xxx.onmicrosoft.com
3. You can purchase a domain from either Godaddy or from O365
If Godaddy:-

If O365, then you should call the O365 Support team to confirm the price.
Note:- You should clear the eligibility criteria to obtain Non profit subscription.

Also, once you add the custom domain (The domain that you will own), set it as default. This will ensure the newly provisioned mailboxes will be associated with the custom domain
Once you associate user with custom domain, the .onmicrosoft.com email address will be added as an email alias

Hi Fredrik,
I think Akabe has provided good suggestion for your question. I have proposed it as an answer.
This forum focuses on general discussion for Office 365 ProPlus which is the Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) part of Office 365 Plans. If you have any further question about Office 365 management and deployment, I suggest you can ask a question in Office 365 community for more discussion:
