Hi MKL0815,

>> we are wondering if there is a way to set the sender email address within Word Mail Merge

Generally, if you have a message to send to many people via email that you want personalized for each recipient, we can use mail merge by referring to the instructions in the link below:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Use-mail-merge-to-send-bulk-email-messages-0f123521-20ce-4aa8-8b62-ac211dedefa4

Regarding "change sender email address", which is mentioned in the title of your thread, in case you need to change the sending email address on an existing mail merge, you may refer to the similar thread below to make the change:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_windows8/how-to-change-the-senders-email-address-in-mail/86110d33-3330-45b3-a7d4-dc9a5cf2e528

Hope you can find the above information helpful.

Best regards,
Yuki Sun

Why cannot there just be a drop-down list of all your accounts when you enter the mail merge email subject?

I just sent out 30 emails to my university course mates from my personal address, because my personal email account was apparently default one in Outlook.

NOT HAPPY about this.

Not happy either, but have you found out an easier solution yet?

The only way I do this is to set up an email profile using the email account I want to use, then open it in Outlook before sending.

I have had a similar problem. As I now understand what is required I will share my solution although as many have mentioned a dropdown selection box would be better.

Change the default email address in outlook before you start the mail merge. My experience is that if you start the mail merge with the wrong email address, changing the default address later does not work.

If you have started with the wrong email address as default then, after changing the default,  open a new file, cut and paste the static content then start the mail merge process again. You can link the existing merge list.

why is this taking this long to resolve ?

not everyone sends from a person mailbox address, some may want to send out using a sharedmailbox email address so that's where responses come back into

this isn't possible to login as on Office 365

why isn't it possible to simply define a sender address or account somewhere on the process ???

It might be good to vote for this on Microsoft Word's UserVoice site (word.uservoice.com). The idea title is "Option to choose Sender Email Address for Mail Merge"  The more votes it gets, the more likely they are to add it to their development roadmap.
